Sleep Training 101

BEFORE

Here I am during the "golden weeks", when I was ruler of my domain and a master manipulator.
My parents were on to me... AFTER

4 days later. I've been sleeping at least 6 hours through the night; Mommy is still working on refining my nap schedule. Normally they place me behind bars, but this was viewed as a success because I fell asleep on my own, breaking associations with rocking and nursing. Now that they know I'm a quick study the expectations are high!

Proud American

OOO-RAH!
Daddy, Mommy and I couldn't be more proud of our cousin, Kevin, who joined the US Marine Force and graduated last week. Kevy began boot camp the day I was born! Here we are 12 weeks later celebrating his success. Don't we both look more disciplined and stronger? I'm wearing my USA red, white and blue outfit Grandma Crosson bought me - just in time for the 4th of July!

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

My daddy loves a good glass of whiskey. We have regular visits from our good friends Mr. Jameson, Mr. Tullamore Dew and Mr. Jack Daniels. And I can't forget to mention Mr. Crown Royal, practically a Crosson relative.

Here I am with a thoughtful baby gift - my first bottle of whiskey. I think they let me this close to it because I currently lack the fine motor skills to grasp it. Another 20 years, 8 months, 11 days, 3 hours and 2 minutes before I can hug the bottle again. But who's counting?

Cousins

I have two cousins very close in age - Aviva DeVore and Madison Banda. You can already see the closeness in our developing relationships...

Here is when I first met Avi. She is a full year older than me. At first she was only somewhat curious about me...

Here we are again a few months later. She had a car seat similar to mine and was trying to help get me out of it. Grandma DeVore was babysitting, and decided to snap the shot instead of rescuing me. This priceless photo has cost me some sort of brain damage that should manifest itself around 9 years of age.

And on the Crosson side...Madi and I meet for the first time. She is 4 weeks older than I and our parents are determined for us to be close...

We appease them by hugging for a photo-op!

What The Heck Are My Grandparents Doing To Me?

I love my grandparents, but every once in a while you have to wonder...Here I am with Great Grandma Scheib in the family "polyg dress". Every grandchild has worn this dress and taken a photo in it (male or female) and I was no exception. When Grandma Betsy Crosson was pregnant with Daddy, her father purchased the green dress from a polygamist, thinking Daddy was going to be a girl. What concerns me most about this photo is the way GG Scheib is so lovingly looking at me and gently adoring the dress. Only time will tell if this family tradition sends me to therapy. If so, I may be the last generation to wear the polyg dress!
It didn't matter that Daddy was a boy. They also dressed him up for a laugh. You can tell by our similar expressions we were thinking the same thing, “Somebody HELP! Please!”
And on Mommy’s side of the family…here’s me with Grandpa DeVore. He loves to try to capture my attention and was using the trial-and-error method. This obviously captures an error. Thankfully, through weeks of overstimulation, we’ve found that I enjoy the song, "The Ballad of Davy Crockett". Stick to the King of the Wild Frontier, Grandpa!

Crosson v.2.0 Has Arrived

Here's the email my daddy sent out announcing my arrival. Pretty much sums up my birthday.

1:31pm – 3:50pm – Serious pushing, sweating & breathing (not necessarily in that order)
3:51pm – The single greatest moment of our lives to date

Brief Synopsis

It was like riding the craziest roller coaster ever created. Only, the roller coaster isn’t located in any amusement or theme park in the world. It’s in a tiny room located at the Kaiser in Mission Gorge. While you’re on it, you experience joy, fear, laughter, tears and the urge to vomit. Just like other roller coasters, you get your picture taken right in the middle. Yet, when it comes to a stop and you’re blinking the tears out of your eyes, you realize that it was the greatest ride you have ever been on and even though you don’t quite feel like getting right back on, you’re pretty sure that if you did, it would give you another amazing ride that won’t quite match your first but will still be amazing in its own right.

It’s a ride that can’t be fully described by anybody, but only experienced. What an experience!

Anyway, thanks to all for your best wishes and support! Mom and baby are doing well. Just really tired. I’ve attached a couple of pictures if you want to check it out.
